Enter a batch text

Prepare a text input containing CH-001 with the caption Charge. No PLC text transfer is tested here.

1. Insert text input

Choose Basic objects → Text → Input (Eingabe), not Output. The reused selection screenshot highlights Output; for this exercise choose Input. Place beside the tank and open properties; the title must identify text input.

Select Text under Basic objects.
In the shared selection dialog, choose Input for this example.

2. Set initial text and caption

Name Charge_Tank_01; Text / initial value CH-001; extra Label Charge with Visible enabled; X/Y 410/160; size 190/30. Retain rotation and opacity. The font-size field is disabled in the screenshot. Leave process fields empty: their gray examples are placeholders. Apply.

Text input with initial value CH-001 and visible label Charge.

3. Check and save

Check CH-001 with Charge above it and save Ctrl+S. This records the configured initial value, not a PLC write test. The separate red Störung output is unaffected.

The prepared batch field on Anlagenübersicht.

4. Text entry versus process integration

In Play, Enter submits a write request to the configured source and variable. That is not confirmation of PLC acceptance. Determine supported type, text length, address and transfer behavior for the actual driver and target. This unassigned field does not create warehouse batches or batch reports.

5. Common questions

A missing Charge caption requires Label and Visible. CH-001 is text, not a numeric setpoint. The 16 output-text mappings belong to text output, not text input. No real transfer occurred in this example.
