Open a detail window with a hotspot
A hotspot is an invisible clickable area in Play mode. It opens the linked detail page in its own window, for example when placed over a pump image. Opening the window requires no PLC symbol; process objects inside can have their own assignments.
1. Insert the hotspot
In design mode choose Displays (Anzeigen) → Hotspot, place the object on the process page and double-click it to open its properties. The design-mode marking helps with positioning and sizing, then disappears in test mode. In the example the area is below Anlagenübersicht. Place a visible image or caption underneath to guide users.
2. Open the properties
The example uses X 40, Y 150 and 110 × 52 pixels. These define the clickable area. Text / initial value is Detail öffnen. The window title is configured separately. Click Configure hotspot (Hotspot einstellen).
3. Create a detail window
With no target selected, click Create new (Neu erstellen). Replace the suggested name with Anlage Detail and confirm OK. The new detail window opens in the editor with a grid where you can place objects.
4. Add a label
Choose Label and place it on the detail page. Open its properties and enter Detailansicht der Anlage as its text, then Apply. This caption identifies the correct window during testing. Click Close at the top of the detail window to return to the main page.
5. Check the link
Reopen Hotspot properties → Configure hotspot. Linked detail window must be Anlage Detail. Window title sets the title bar text; it does not change the linked page. Edit opens the selected page for editing. Unlink removes this hotspot’s link without deleting the detail page. Apply both dialogs and save.
6. Open, close and reopen
Start F5 and click the now invisible area below Anlagenübersicht. Verify that Anlage Detail opens with Detailansicht der Anlage. Close the detail window, return to the main page and click the same hotspot again. The exercise confirmed both opening and reopening the correct page.
Common questions
An invisible area is expected in Play mode. If nothing opens, verify the linked page, apply changes and click within the configured bounds. For the wrong window, check the linked page rather than just its title. To change the contents, select the linked detail page and click Edit. No simulator is needed for opening and closing.
