Keyboard shortcuts
A compact, separately printable reference for selecting and editing objects in design mode.
Object editing shortcuts
Apply or close property dialogs, select objects on the canvas and leave any active text field before using an object shortcut.
- Delete — delete selection
- Deletes selected simple objects without another confirmation. Check the selection first.
- Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y — undo / redo
- Undoes or restores an available object edit. This is not a recovery mechanism for deleted pages or files.
- Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V — copy / paste
- Copies the selection and inserts an offset copy. Check names and process assignments afterward.
- Ctrl+X — cut
- Copies objects to the internal object clipboard and removes them from the page. Paste with Ctrl+V.
- Ctrl+A — select all
- Selects unlocked objects on the current page.
- Arrow keys — move precisely
- Moves the selection one pixel in the chosen direction within the page bounds.
- Shift+Arrow — next grid position
- Moves the selection in the grid direction using the page grid spacing.
- Ctrl+L / Ctrl+Shift+L — lock / unlock
- Locks the selection; Ctrl+Shift+L unlocks all locked objects on the current page.
- Esc — end editor action
- Cancels an action such as placement or clears the current selection.
- Ctrl+S — save project
- Saves applied changes. Save again after deleting, moving or copying.
The fixed global alarm area cannot be deleted or copied. Structural objects with assigned contents can ask an additional question about those contents.
LOCK / UNLOCK – Locking and unlocking objects
Use LOCK to protect finished objects from accidental selection and editing in design mode, for example a background, image or frame.
- Close property dialogs and select the objects on the canvas. Move keyboard focus out of text fields first.
- LOCK: Ctrl+L locks the current selection and clears it. A yellow padlock badge marks each locked object.
- Locked objects are skipped by normal selection, the selection rectangle, Ctrl+A and Alt+click cycling through overlapping objects. This prevents accidental dragging or resizing with the mouse.
- UNLOCK: Ctrl+Shift+L unlocks all locked objects on the current page. No prior selection is required. Select the object you want to edit afterward.
- Save the project to retain the lock state.
Example with overlapping objects: Lock a finished background or frame, then work on the remaining objects. To modify the locked frame, use UNLOCK and select it again. Relock any other objects as needed afterward.
LOCK does not pin the selection: An object must be unlocked and selected before resizing. Priority for the selected resize handle is a separate editor feature. LOCK affects design editing; it is not a user permission or an operation lock in play mode.
Resize handles on overlapping objects
The selected object’s resize handle takes priority over an underlying object. Drag the visible handle: resizing remains attached to that object until release. Clicking outside the handle can still select another object. LOCK is separate; unlock an object before editing it.
