Create and configure pages

Add an Anlagenübersicht page, set up its working area and save it with the project.

1. Add a page

In the page area at the lower left, click the plus to add a page. This is separate from the New Project button in the top toolbar. Enter Anlagenübersicht as the page name in the page settings.

The new page has its own name, grid, snap and background settings. Click to enlarge.

2. Configure the canvas

Use grid spacing 10 pixels and snap spacing 10 pixels. Grid changes the visible guide spacing; Snap sets the placement increments. The top GRID and SNAP switches control them independently. Keep the example runtime background #0d1116. Leave every optional PLC page-identifier field empty for this exercise. Confirm the page settings with OK, then save the project separately.

3. Select the page

Click Anlagenübersicht in the page list. Before adding objects, check the selection and page name in the status bar. Zero objects is correct for a new page.

Anlagenübersicht has been added and highlighted. The status bar names the page currently being edited.

4. Save the project

Press Ctrl+S or the disk icon and close the confirmation with OK. Pages are saved inside the project, not as separate page files. Save again after changes to names, grid, snap or other settings. Autosave is optional and does not replace applying and saving completed changes. Next add a heading.

The save confirmation shows the actual project path on your installation, which may differ from this example.

5. Optional PLC page identifier

A configured page identifier writes a numeric value when the page opens in Play mode. Specify a device, symbol or address, and that page’s value; Symbol opens the selector. Values 0 for Hauptseite and 1 for Anlagenübersicht are examples only and must match PLC logic. This is a write operation. With active plant communication, use only an intended target variable; with no driver selected it stays local. Leave it unconfigured for this exercise. To disable it later, remove both symbol and address: clearing the address alone may leave a valid symbolic assignment.

6. Manage existing pages

Select a page and use Settings above the page list or F4. Apply with OK and save. Duplicate copies the selected page and its objects and adds Kopie to the name. Apply pending changes and reopen settings before duplicating; check copied process assignments and page identifiers. Delete Page removes the page and objects after confirmation. The fixed global alarm page cannot be duplicated or deleted. Page deletion cannot be undone with Ctrl+Z, so back up the project first.

Start page in Play mode

  1. Select the desired page in the editor.
  2. Open its page settings with F4 or the Settings button below the page list.
  3. Enable Use this page as the start page in Play mode, apply and save the project.

F5 then opens this page, regardless of the currently selected editor page. Only one page can be the fixed start page. Renaming or reordering it preserves the setting; duplicating it does not copy the start-page setting. Detail pages cannot be selected as the start page.

With no fixed start page, Play keeps the selected normal page. If the global alarm page is selected, Play opens the first normal project page instead. Removing or unchecking the fixed start page restores this behaviour. Selecting a start page does not automatically start its V-PLC.

Page settings: the tank demo is selected as the fixed Play start page. The screenshot shows the German interface.
