Top bar – the upper toolbar
The top bar from left to right: project commands, settings, tools, grid controls, play mode and application exit.
1. Orientation
The screenshot shows design mode, with commands for configuring projects. Play mode has different controls, including login and “← Edit”.
The window title identifies the version, project and signed-in user with role: Mein_erstes_Projekt – Rainer (Administrator). The * indicates changes or a pending save confirmation. Autosave may already have written a copy, so the star alone does not prove that nothing has been saved. Use Save to explicitly confirm the current state.
The badge below the application name also shows v2.61.509. Include the version when asking about operation.
2. Project commands and the two arrows
- Plus – New project · Ctrl+N
- Creates a project. The plus below the page list creates a page instead. See Creating a project.
- Folder – Open project · Ctrl+O
- Opens an existing project. Save changes before switching or follow the confirmation dialog.
- Disk – Save · Ctrl+S
- Saves the current project. With user management configured, this requires permission to save projects.
- Sheet with pen – Save as · Ctrl+Shift+S
- Opens selection of a project file destination. It is not PDF export. Check the destination and any overwrite warning.
- Left arrow – Undo · Ctrl+Z
- Undoes an available object change.
- Right arrow – Redo · Ctrl+Y
- Restores an undone object change.
Both arrows are dark in the screenshot because the corresponding action is unavailable. Object history is not a general archive of every project setting. Switching Taskbar, Grid or Snap, for example, resets this history. See the separate keyboard shortcut guide.
3. Settings through Help
- Settings
- Complete settings guide, including the demo with hidden drivers. Opens program and project settings, including image editor, font, time format, users/roles, automatic logout, on-screen keyboard, autosave, communication and language. These are not individual page settings. Existing guides cover autosave and users and roles.
- PLC table
- Opens the communication table for devices and PLC symbols. Object settings use these assignments through “Select symbol”. A readable name does not replace a correct address and device assignment.
- Tools
- Opens the menu containing Translator, Pixel image editor, Object catalogue and Check project.
- Libraries
- Opens management of installed specialist libraries for viewing, loading and activation. This differs from the object palette on the left.
- Logbook
- Opens events such as operator actions, PLC writes, alarms and system events. It differs from a process protocol, which documents an operation and its process values.
- Help · F1
- Opens application help and keyboard shortcut information.
This overview explains the entry points. Full walkthroughs for the PLC table, Tools, Libraries and Logbook will be added separately.
Tools
Click Tools in the top bar, then select the required entry. Opening the menu does not execute any tool.
4. TASKBAR, GRID and SNAP
- TASKBAR ON
- Keeps the Windows taskbar visible in test/play mode. This refers to the Windows taskbar, not this toolbar.
- GRID ON
- Displays the current page's alignment grid in the editor.
- SNAP ON
- Enables grid snapping for positioning on the current page. Grid visibility and snapping are separate settings.
Turquoise and “ON” indicate enabled switches in the screenshot. Click to toggle. Grid and snap spacing belong to page settings. A visible grid does not necessarily mean snapping is enabled. Save changes that should remain part of the project.
5. Play and application exit
Triangle / F5: Starts test/play mode for operating the configured objects. With communication configured, actions can write real PLC values; test mode does not automatically mean simulation. Check the selected driver and connection before starting. See the introduction to modes.
Red power button: Exits PamaGlawe. It is not an emergency stop or confirmation of safe machine shutdown. Follow the confirmation dialog for pending changes. An active process recording blocks application closure and must be completed first.
If functions are restricted, check the signed-in role. The name “Administrator” does not replace assigned permissions. Project editing, free file selection and process operation use different permissions.
