Display the date and time
Date / Time uses the system clock of the computer running PamaGlawe. Choose an object-specific format or the project default. No PLC symbol or simulator is required.
1. Insert Date / Time
In design mode choose Displays (Anzeigen) → Datum / Zeit, place the object on the process page and double-click it to open its properties. The screenshots show moments during the exercise; your computer displays its current time.
2. Set position, size and font
The example uses 210 × 42 pixels and a 16-pixel font. New palette objects default to 16 pixels since 2.61.504; existing objects retain their sizes. Use Format text for font, color and alignment, and Configure display for date formatting. Text / initial value does not set the date format.
3. Choose a format
Open Configure display → Presentation (Darstellung). Project default uses the format in project settings. Date and time uses dd.MM.yyyy HH:mm:ss; Time only uses HH:mm:ss; Date only uses dd.MM.yyyy. Custom enables your own format field. Apply both dialogs and save.
4. Test the standard formats
Choose Date and time, apply and start F5. Leave test mode, choose Time only, apply and restart. Repeat with Date only. The three screenshots show these successive tests; the clock continues to follow system time.
5. Show date and time without seconds
Leave test mode, open Configure display, choose Custom and enter dd.MM.yyyy HH:mm. Apply both dialogs, save and restart F5. The tokens mean: dd two-digit day, MM two-digit month, yyyy four-digit year, HH 24-hour clock, mm minutes and ss seconds. Case matters: MM is months, mm is minutes. This example deliberately omits ss.
Common questions
The custom field is editable only with Custom selected. For seconds, include ss. If the text is clipped, increase width, reduce font size or shorten the format. If time is incorrect, check the computer’s date, time and time zone. Invalid custom patterns are checked on Apply and must be corrected.
